I’m still basking in the afterglow of the reception on October 19th at the Jewel Tea Pavilion in Barrington, celebrating publication of my book, BURLING STREET GIRL, a memoir from the 1930s through 1950 in short story form. At the reception, family and friends received signed copies of the book’s first printing.
Thanks to my nephew Herb, his wife Linda, and their family for all the hard work in putting everything together, and thanks to the staff at Citizens Park for the beautiful meeting place! Our out-of-town guests were knocked out by the park and by the sunny day we had.
Also, many thanks to Eileen Daday and Susan Klovstad of the Daily Herald for producing a lovely story about the event! It generated many nice comments and a lot of interest in Burling Street Girl. I have enjoyed hearing from people who had similar experiences growing up.
